This intensive full-time programme offers students a solid theoretical background in normal human communication and its disorders as well as in related disciplines of medicine, psychology, English and Cantonese linguistics and hearing sciences.
Speech therapists assess and treat individuals with a wide range of speech and language disorders, swallowing disorders and other communication difficulties. Speech therapists work with individuals of all ages in various settings such as hospitals, schools, pre-school centres and private clinics.
這個(gè)強(qiáng)化全日制課程為學(xué)生提供扎實(shí)的理論基礎(chǔ),包括正常人類交際及其障礙,以及醫(yī)學(xué)、心理學(xué)、英語及廣東話語言學(xué)及聽力科學(xué)等相關(guān)學(xué)科。
This programme has obtained the full endorsement status by the Hong Kong Institute of Speech Therapists. Graduates from the programme will be accepted as eligible to apply to be Member of Register of Speech Therapists accredited by Department of Health. They are able to practise as speech therapists in Hong Kong, and they are eligible for membership of the Hong Kong Association of Speech Therapists. The degree is equivalent in content to similar courses in Australia and North America. Graduates are also well qualified for post-graduate studies in this or allied disciplines.
本課程已獲香港言語治療師學(xué)會(huì)正式認(rèn)可。本課程的畢業(yè)生可以有資格申請成為衛(wèi)生署認(rèn)可的言語治療師名冊成員。他們可在香港執(zhí)業(yè)為言語治療師,并有資格成為香港言語治療師協(xié)會(huì)會(huì)員。該學(xué)位在內(nèi)容上與澳大利亞和北美的類似課程相當(dāng)。畢業(yè)生也很有資格在這個(gè)或相關(guān)學(xué)科的研究生學(xué)習(xí)。
· The curriculum employs a student-centered, “Translational Learning” approach.
· The medium of classwork is English with a strong emphasis on active participation, problem-solving and presentations in small discussion groups.
· In the final year, students are required to complete a research dissertation.
· During the course, students are required to complete over 300 hours of supervised clinical practicum. The clinical programme is conducted predominantly in Cantonese. This programme therefore offers students a unique bilingual education and training.
· A strong emphasis is placed on students’ ability to integrate theory and clinical practice, and on their development of the necessary interpersonal and basic research skills.
·本課程采用以學(xué)生為中心的“翻譯學(xué)習(xí)”方法。
·課程以英語授課,強(qiáng)調(diào)學(xué)生的積極參與、解決問題和小組討論。
·在最后一年,學(xué)生必須完成一篇研究論文。
·在課程中,學(xué)生需要完成超過300小時(shí)的臨床實(shí)習(xí)指導(dǎo)。臨床計(jì)劃主要以廣東話進(jìn)行。因此,本課程為學(xué)生提供了獨(dú)特的雙語教育和培訓(xùn)。
